Meet Our Doctors
Meet Our Newest Physician, Dr. Jenny Yu, MD
Dr. Jenny Yu is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic, orbital, and reconstructive surgery. After more than 15 years as an academic surgeon at the UPMC Eye Center, she brings extensive expertise in treating conditions of the eyelids, orbit, and surrounding facial structures — from eyelid drooping to complex orbital trauma, thyroid eye disease, and reconstruction after tumor removal.
Dr. Yu’s practice focuses on both the functional and aesthetic health of the eyes and face. She is recognized for her expertise in thyroid eye disease and complex eyelid and orbital reconstruction, while also providing cosmetic eyelid and periocular procedures designed to help patients achieve a refreshed, natural appearance while preserving the unique characteristics of their face.
A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Yu completed her ophthalmology residency and oculoplastic fellowship at the UPMC Eye Center, where she served on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Her research in surgical innovation, orbital reconstruction, and advanced biomaterials has been supported by national organizations.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Yu is the co-founder of Project Theia, a nonprofit providing surgical eye care, training, and education to underserved communities worldwide. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care by listening carefully, explaining options clearly, and creating treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals.

Dr. Michaela Hickey, DO
Celebrating Dr. Hickey’s Next Chapter
After two wonderful years of caring for our patients and being an important part of our team, Dr. Michaela Hickey will be transitioning to a new chapter and relocating to her home state to be closer to family.
We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, expertise, and dedication Dr. Hickey has brought to our patients and our team. While we will miss having her as part of our practice, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continued exceptional care for every patient.
Dr. Hickey will still be seeing patients through the end of August, 2026.

Dr. Michael A. Alunni, MD
Michael A. Alunni, M.D. is an Ophthalmology Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA with two decades of specialty experience in cataract surgery and glaucoma management. Dr. Alunni received his bachelor of science degree from the Pennsylvania State University (We Are!...) then went on to graduate from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University Medical School in 2005 with honors.
After finishing his residency at UPMC Eye Center, he completed his fellowship at Allegheny Ophthalmic and Orbital Associates. Dr. Alunni is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and affiliated with many surgical outpatient facilities and hospitals.
When he is not in the operating room, you will find him hiking outdoors or spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Lindsey Lear, OD, FAAO
Lindsey K. Lear, O.D. is a Medical Optometrist licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease and specializing in low vision and aesthetics. She returned to private practice after serving our Veterans for over a decade at the VA Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Lear graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with clinical and academic honors after receiving her bachelor of science degree from Pennsylvania State University (....Penn State!). She completed an ocular disease residency at Salisbury, NC VA Medical Center and became a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Pennsylvania Diabetic Eye Health Alliance (PDEHA) initiative, and a credentialed provider for the PA Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services.
Dr. Lear is also well-versed in skincare and ocular aesthetics. She has been helping people achieve great skin and eyelash results with Rodan + Fields for over four years and is excited to bring many new services and devices to Ophthalmology Associates of Osborne.
In her free time, she enjoys skiing and yoga and resides in Mars, PA with her boyfriend and their children.
Dr. Aaron Harsch, OD
Dr. Aaron J. Harsch is a Medical Optometrist licensed in the treatment of ocular disease. He also fits contact lens patients at Ophthalmology Associates of Osborne. Dr. Harsch graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
He has local roots, coming from Ambridge, with a large extended family throughout the Ambridge and Aliquippa areas. His grandfather, Anthony “Titi” Costanza owned a local shoe repair shop in Aliquippa after apprenticing “Uncle Sam” Costanza on Glenwood Avenue in Ambridge.
When Dr. Harsch is not working at Ophthalmology Associates, he works on a mobile clinic throughout the greater Pittsburgh area, bringing free glasses to school children. He performs eye examinations in English and Spanish as needed.
Dr. Douglas W. Bowers, OD
Dr. Bowers received his optometric degree at Ohio State University. He managed a very successful solo optometry practice in Robinson Township and then joined forces with Ophthalmology Associates in 1976.
Within the practice, he specializes in contact lens fittings and complex refractions.
In his spare time, Dr. Bowers enjoys bowling, gardening and an impeccably healthy, farm-to-table diet!
